SkinMedica reinforces its dedication to regenerative science through sustained investment in research and development

Allergan Aesthetics has recently announced an expanded commitment by SkinMedica to regenerative science, channelling investment into innovation, research, clinical insight, and the patient experience.

“Stemming from its origins in wound-healing research, SkinMedica was founded on the principles of regenerative skincare,” said Glen Curran, Senior Vice President, Allergan Aesthetics. “For more than 25 years, the brand has consistently advanced science-backed solutions, and today we’re excited to introduce initiatives that continue to reinforce its mission to support skin health from cell to surface.”

SkinMedica has established the Regenerative Science Advisory Board, bringing together a distinguished collective of physicians, clinicians, and skin health specialists from across the country. Operating through in-person collaboration, virtual consultations, and curated content on SkinMedica platforms, the advisory board will nurture scientific dialogue, share best practices drawn from clinical experience, and help connect breakthrough research with the realities of everyday patient care.

The advisory board reinforces Allergan Aesthetics’ standing in professional-grade skincare and sits alongside a broader programme of investment in SkinMedica innovation, including a recent expansion of the SkinMedica research and development laboratory in Irvine, California.

The enhanced facility supports a wide range of pre-clinical research and sophisticated imaging technologies that provide richer insight into skin biology. SkinMedica is also integrating artificial intelligence and machine learning into its work to identify novel biological targets, speed up ingredient discovery, and deepen understanding of the cellular mechanisms behind skin longevity, with the goal of addressing unmet skin concerns.
