A walkthrough of the journey towards Digital Transformation for Takeda’s Massachusetts Biologics Operations Site. Robert Dimitri is a Director in Takeda’s Business Excellence group for the Biologics Operating Unit as the Digital Transformation and Innovation Lead. Previously he led the Digital and Data Sciences group in Manufacturing Sciences at Takeda’s Massachusetts Biologics Site leading a team for the implementation of digital tools used for the analysis of internal manufacturing operations data, used to support the production of biologic drugs to treat rare diseases. He has over 15 years of experience in this field, having worked previously as a process engineer and developing software to perform process data analytics. Robert has a B.S. degree in Chemistry and Computer Science, an M.S. in Computer Science, and an M.B.A.

Pep Gubau is Chief Technology Officer and Executive Chairman of the Board at Bigfinite. He is an entrepreneur and has been working in IT for the last 25 years with companies pioneering Linux adoption in the 90s, cloud in the 2000s, and big data and AI in the last decade. Although having an Economic Theory, Econometrics, and Mathematics education, his early career was as a software developer in the chemical and pharma industry. He was later CTO & COO of a large IT consulting firm until 2003 when Pep founded his first IT company. Two more followed.
In 2013, Pep brought the inception of Bigfinite to his lifelong professional career partners, Pere and Toni, starting their current venture – the third iteration of their accumulated knowledge and expertise in the Pharma industry, using the transforming new technologies now available.
Pep holds several international patents related to the encryption, transmission, storage and processing of large volumes of data for regulated environments in the cloud. Pep teaches IT topics regularly in several Master Programs at Universities in Europe and the Americas and gives talks about the impact of Big Data, Machine Learning and Advanced Analytics.
