Johnson & Johnson highlights broad multiple myeloma pipeline with more than 35 studies at IMS 2026
Posted on September 9, 2026
Johnson & Johnson will present more than 35 abstracts covering its multiple myeloma portfolio at the 2026 International Myeloma Society Annual Meeting, taking place in Glasgow, Scotland, from September 23 to 26.
The data will feature both approved and investigational treatments across different stages of multiple myeloma. Presentations will include findings involving DARZALEX, TECVAYLI combined with DARZALEX FASPRO, CARVYKTI, TALVEY and the investigational trispecific antibody ramantamig.
Several of the studies will examine the use of immune based therapies earlier in the treatment pathway. Other presentations will provide longer term follow up and Phase 3 analyses designed to improve understanding of treatment durability and outcomes across the course of the disease.
Yusri Elsayed, Global Therapeutic Area Head for Oncology at Johnson & Johnson, said treatment options for multiple myeloma have progressed considerably, but the company is aiming to move beyond controlling the disease and pursue outcomes that were previously difficult to achieve.
Elsayed said the research being presented at IMS reflects efforts to introduce highly effective treatments at earlier stages, generate longer term evidence on durable responses and strengthen scientific knowledge that could contribute towards the development of potential cures.
Among the research being highlighted is new follow up extending to at least five years from Cohort A of the Phase 2 CARTITUDE 2 study. The trial is assessing CARVYKTI, or ciltacabtagene autoleucel, as a single infusion in patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma who received between one and three previous lines of therapy. The findings are included in Abstract PA 288.
Additional analyses from the Phase 3 MajesTEC 3 study will examine survival outcomes associated with TECVAYLI, or teclistamab cqyv, used alongside DARZALEX FASPRO, which contains daratumumab and hyaluronidase fihj.
The study includes patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma who had received between one and three previous treatment lines. Analyses will further assess overall survival, progression and mortality unrelated to relapse.
Mixture cure modelling from MajesTEC 3 estimated statistical cure fractions above 85%, suggesting that the treatment combination could alter expectations for long term survival among a substantial proportion of patients. These analyses will be presented in Abstracts OA 49 and OA 58.
Data from the Phase 3 MonumenTAL 3 trial will also be presented. The study is investigating TALVEY, or talquetamab tgvs, in combination with DARZALEX FASPRO, either with or without pomalidomide.
These treatment approaches are being compared with a regimen consisting of DARZALEX FASPRO, pomalidomide and dexamethasone in patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma. The presentation will provide an encore of findings previously shown at EHA 2026 and is listed as Abstract PA 350.
Johnson & Johnson will also share results from the TALVEY induction arm of the Phase 2 MajesTEC 5 study. This analysis is evaluating TALVEY together with DARZALEX FASPRO and lenalidomide as induction treatment for transplant eligible patients who have newly diagnosed multiple myeloma. These findings are included in Abstract OA 51.
Longer term findings from the Phase 3 PERSEUS study will provide further evidence on DARZALEX FASPRO as part of the Dara VRd regimen in transplant eligible patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma.
PERSEUS compares the Dara VRd approach with VRd, which consists of bortezomib, lenalidomide and dexamethasone. The updated results will be presented in Abstract LBA 07.
The meeting will also feature updated efficacy and safety findings for ramantamig, also known as JNJ 5322. The investigational treatment is a trispecific antibody targeting BCMA and GPRC5D.
Data will focus on ramantamig at the recommended Phase 2 dose in patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma. New findings will also assess whether treatment can feasibly be administered in an outpatient setting. The results will be presented in Abstract OA 70.
Together, the presentations cover treatments ranging from established backbone therapies to newer immune based approaches as Johnson & Johnson continues to investigate strategies for improving outcomes throughout the multiple myeloma treatment pathway.
