AbbVie highlights new solid tumour data across multiple oncology programmes at ESMO 2026
Posted on October 19, 2026
AbbVie will present new and updated clinical data across seven oncology assets at the 2026 European Society for Medical Oncology Congress, highlighting progress across lung, colorectal, ovarian, prostate and gastric cancers.
The company said the programme represents its largest ESMO presence to date and includes findings from antibody drug conjugates, bispecific antibodies and precision medicine programmes at different stages of development.
Assets featured include Temab-A, ABBV-706, ABBV-969, ABBV-1480, alveltamig, Emrelis and Elahere.
Among the updated findings are new results for Temab-A, also known as telisotuzumab adizutecan, an investigational c-Met directed antibody drug conjugate carrying a topoisomerase 1 inhibitor payload.
In previously treated advanced colorectal cancer, Temab-A at 2.4 mg/kg combined with bevacizumab achieved a 30% overall response rate.
Median overall survival reached 14.7 months with the combination compared with 10.2 months with standard of care after a median follow-up of 18.2 months.
The combination is being further studied in the global Phase III AndroMETa-CRC-560 trial.
Updated Phase I findings were also reported in non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer.
Among patients with EGFR wild-type disease, Temab-A achieved an overall response rate of 50% and median overall survival of 13.8 months.
In patients with EGFR-mutant disease, the overall response rate was 63% and median overall survival reached 16.2 months.
A separate exploratory analysis in patients with EGFR-mutant NSCLC and baseline brain metastases showed an intracranial response rate of 37%, with a median intracranial duration of response of 19.8 months.
AbbVie recently received two FDA Breakthrough Therapy Designations for Temab-A in colorectal cancer and NSCLC.
The company is also presenting updated data for ABBV-706, a SEZ6 directed antibody drug conjugate being developed in relapsed or refractory small cell lung cancer.
At the selected Phase III dose of 1.8 mg/kg, ABBV-706 achieved an overall response rate of 56% and median overall survival of 12.4 months among patients treated in the second line or later.
In the second-line-only subgroup, the response rate increased to 82% and median overall survival reached 14.4 months.
ABBV-706 is now being evaluated against standard care in an ongoing Phase III study.
Additional findings involve ABBV-969, a dual-targeting antibody drug conjugate designed to target PSMA and STEAP1 in metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer.
In a heavily pretreated Phase I population, 90% of patients achieved at least a 50% reduction in circulating tumour DNA by cycle three.
A further 78% experienced conversion in circulating tumour cell levels from unfavourable to favourable.
AbbVie is also reporting early results for ABBV-1480, a PD-1 and VEGF bispecific antibody.
In first-line PD-L1-positive NSCLC, ABBV-1480 monotherapy achieved an overall response rate of 61.9% and median progression-free survival of 15.2 months.
Among previously treated NSCLC patients receiving ABBV-1480 with docetaxel, the overall response rate was 66.7% and median progression-free survival reached 8.5 months.
The programme is continuing into Phase III development, including the AMUR-Lung-01 study and a newly initiated combination study with Temab-A.
Daejin Abidoye, Vice President and Therapeutic Area Head of Oncology, Solid Tumour and Haematology at AbbVie, said the ESMO programme reflects the company’s strategy of combining tumour biology, biomarkers and next-generation treatment platforms.
He said the findings support continued development of several programmes across different solid tumour types and patient populations.
