Thermo Scientific Pharma 11 Compounder In the early development of a new drug, research and development formulation scientists face the challenge that only a small amount of expensive API  is available for experiments. The Thermo Scientific Pharma 11 compounder provides cost-effective extrusion capabilities from a material and labor perspective. Continuous processing can start with a minimum throughput of as low as 20 g/h. Its parallel 11 mm twin-screws and compact design is fully scalable with the Thermo Scientific standalone pharmaceutical compounding systems, enables researchers to obtain results relevant to the process and even perform small scale production. Thermo Scientific Pharma 16 HME and Pharma 24 HME Twin-screw Extruders allow rapid process development with minimal use of expensive ingredients for defining critical process parameters. Reduced clean room space requirements provide consistent, controllable processing and are suitable for process analytical technology (PAT). Complementing the Pharma 11 compounder, these extruders minimizes scale-up risk and lowers product changeover time. We offer a full range of GMP standard ancillaries which are matched to the extruder performance, and can be integrated into the extruder control system.
