Actimask® has a hydrophilic hydrogel coating that creates an effective taste barrier without residual solvents. This coating allows the active to easily slide down the patient’s throat and releases within the GI tract. The hydrophilic hydrogel coating provides superior organoleptic properties and a high assay helps to reduce tablet weight. For the Actimask Acetaminophen 92M product, the dissolution profile matches that of uncoated acetaminophen. The burning sensation many patients experience with poorly masked or unmasked ibuprofen products is prevented with the use of Actimask Ibuprofen 92S.
