Application of Multivariate Data Analysis in Process Analytical Technologies

The utilization of Multivariate Data Analysis (MVDA) techniques at Sanofi Pasteur, Toronto site has demonstrated innovative capabilities for improved process understanding, control and diagnostics. In this presentation, the application of unsupervised clustering techniques to evaluate the data obtained from process analytical technologies (PATs), i.e. mass spectrometry & RAMAN spectroscopy, are demonstrated in order to investigate and identify the source of variability in upstream process units.

Hossein Sahraei is a Data Scientist at Sanofi Pasteur’s Modeling and Process Control Strategy Group in Toronto, Canada. He joined Sanofi Pasteur in 2017, providing data analytics support for manufacturing of component Pertussis vaccine and application of Process Analytical Technologies (PAT). He recieved his PhD degree from the University of Waterloo in 2017 with a collaboration with Natural Resources Canada. His contribution led to ten peer reviewed journal publications and a book chapter on the application of reduced order models and model-based controllers.
